TRADITIONAL MEAT BALL SOUP RECIPE (SUPA TOPCHETA)
Meatballs Ingredients:
1. 1 onion medium size, cut on very small cubes
2. 1 lb (0.5 kg) ground beef
3. 2 slices of wet white bread without the crust
4. Black pepper (Optional)
5. 1 tea spoon of salt
6. 1 egg
7. 3 - 4 table spoons of parsley cut on small pieces
8. 1 or 2 cloves of garlic smashed in a paste (Optional)
9. 3 - 4 table spoons of parmesan cheese powder (Optional)
Broth Ingredients:
1. 1 gallon (3 liters) of water
2. 4 cubes of Knor chicken broth
3. Black pepper
4. 1 potato medium size cut on small cubes
5. Parmesan cheese (Optional)
How to cook the meatballs:
Mix the ingredients from the meatball list above in a bowl. From the ground beef form balls with approximate diameter 1 inch (2.5 cm) . Put the meatballs in a cooking pan and bake in a 400 F (200 C) heated oven. The meatballs should bake until the beef is well cooked inside and out.
How to prepare the broth:
Boil the water, add ingredients 2 thought 4 from the broth list above until the potatoes cubes get cooked. Stir the broth while cooking. Add the cooked meatballs into the broth.
The soup should be served warm with optional table spoon of parmesan cheese added to each serving.
